Assistance to a relocated hospital from Donetsk Oblast

17/08/2026

As part of the medical component of the project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support", the Charitable Organization "Charity Fund "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya" purchased and delivered specialized supplies to meet the needs of the Selydove Central City Hospital, a municipal non-profit enterprise of the Selydove City Council.

Due to russian military aggression, the hospital was relocated from the Donetsk region to one of the settlements in the Odessa region, where it resumed operations and continues to provide medical care to local residents and internally displaced persons.

Currently, the medical facility operates palliative care, diagnostic, and outpatient departments, a clinical diagnostic laboratory, a mobile palliative care team that provides medical care to patients where they are located, as well as a diagnostic radiology department equipped with computed tomography (CT) scanning. The hospital’s medical staff provides long-term nursing care services to internally displaced persons evacuated from the active combat zone in Donetsk Oblast who have limited mobility and require continuous assistance and medical supervision. According to the hospital, due to insufficient funding and a heavy workload, there is a constant need for additional resource support.

To support patients of Selydove Central City Hospital and strengthen the facility’s material and technical capacity, a shipment of medical supplies comprising nearly three dozen items—including medications, consumables, hygiene products, and disinfectants—was donated to the hospital. The aid has already been delivered to the Odesa region.

The project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support" is being implemented by the Charitable Organization "Charity Fund "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya" with the support of "terre des hommes Deutschland e.V." and funding from the German Federal Foreign Office.
