Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya continues to implement the project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support". As part of this initiative, another charitable shipment has been donated to support the Maternity and Child Health Center of Municipal Non-Profit Enterprise "Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 5" of the Kyiv City Council (Kyiv City State Administration).

The healthcare facility approached CAMZ with a request for essential medical equipment—cardiotocographs—to meet its needs for fetal monitoring during pregnancy and childbirth. Cardiotocographic monitoring is a crucial component of the objective assessment of the fetus’s well-being, particularly its heart rate. It enables healthcare professionals to detect early signs of potential deterioration in the unborn baby’s condition and make informed clinical decisions regarding the further management of pregnancy and childbirth.

Around 200 babies are born at the Maternity and Child Health Center every month. This volume of obstetric care requires an adequate supply of modern, reliable equipment that is readily available for fetal monitoring. Unfortunately, the facility’s current number of fetal monitors does not fully meet its actual needs. The additional medical equipment will therefore help improve the safety and quality of care for both mothers and babies.

The specialized medical equipment has already been delivered to the healthcare facility in Kyiv and is being used to assess the well-being of unborn babies.

The project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support" is being implemented by the Charitable Organization "Charity Fund "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya" with the support of "terre des hommes Deutschland e.V." and funding from the German Federal Foreign Office.
