As part of the project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support," the Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya donated a charitable shipment of medical equipment, medicines, and medical supplies to the Regional Clinical Perinatal Center of the Kharkiv Regional Council.

The shipment included a temperature data logger, a thermal transport box, medicines, and medical consumables, in accordance with the list specified in the healthcare facility’s request.

The Regional Clinical Perinatal Center is one of the region’s leading medical institutions providing obstetric and gynecological care. It ranks among the top three facilities in Kharkiv and the surrounding region in terms of the number of births attended and women and newborns treated. The center provides round-the-clock specialized medical care to women from across the Kharkiv Oblast, including those from de-occupied settlements where women had been without adequate medical care for extended periods, as well as internally displaced women from all regions of Ukraine. Its services include care for premature labor, pregnancy loss, severe obstetric conditions, and pregnancies at high risk of perinatal complications. The institution also provides neonatal care for sick and premature newborns. Over the past year alone, the facility’s medical team provided care to nearly 2,300 women, attended more than 700 births, and delivered neonatal intensive care to 174 newborns. Rehabilitation services were also provided to 186 newborns.

The charitable shipment provided by the Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya is already being used to support the facility’s round-the-clock emergency medical services. In particular, the thermal transport box and temperature data logger help maintain the required cold chain during the transportation of vaccines used to immunize newborns.

As a reminder, CAMZ recently provided essential medical equipment to the Maternity and Child Health Center in Kyiv Oblast.

The project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support" is being implemented by the Charitable Organization "Charity Fund "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya" with the support of "terre des hommes Deutschland e.V." and funding from the German Federal Foreign Office.
