As part of the project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support," the Charitable Organization "Charity Fund "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya" purchased and delivered a shipment of medicines to support the inpatient departments of the V. Ya. Danilevsky Institute of Endocrine Pathology Problems of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine in Kharkiv Oblast.
CAMZ received a request from the healthcare facility for assistance with medicines for the Institute’s inpatient departments.
"In the face of unprovoked armed aggression by the russian federation, Ukraine’s healthcare system has found itself in a dire situation. Extensive damage to primary healthcare facilities and hospitals, medicine and medical supply chains, as well as medical equipment and premises, has significantly hindered the provision of quality healthcare. The situation is particularly severe in frontline regions, including the city of Kharkiv. The V. Ya. Danilevsky Institute of Endocrine Pathology Problems of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine is the only specialized center in the Kharkiv, Donetsk and Poltava regions providing treatment for patients with endocrine disorders and related conditions. The Institute is capable of providing the full range of medical care required by this patient group. However, the ongoing war, constant shelling and security threats, and the growing number of patients with advanced diseases have significantly increased the need for medical equipment and its restoration, medical and non-medical consumables, medicines, and other essential supplies," the request states.
To ensure the continued provision of uninterrupted medical care to patients with endocrine disorders and related conditions in the region, the Committee purchased a shipment of medicines in accordance with the request received from the healthcare facility.
The project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support" is being implemented by the Charitable Organization "Charity Fund "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya" with the support of "terre des hommes Deutschland e.V." and funding from the German Federal Foreign Office.
